Don’t read if you plan to watch The Wrestler, starring Mickey Rourke.
I actually found the movie of The Wrestler very depressing, sure he found his true love, the crowd, but he failed his daughter and turned his back on the woman he had always had a thing for. And sure he found his love in the crowd, but the crowd is fickle and only knows the character he portrays to them.
I am too 35 pages and 4000 words in my thesis. And I wouldn’t even say I am half done. Plus I still need to create legitimate appendicii as opposed to the pages that simply say, appendix, and my table of contents is a joke. But its getting there.
And I may have just come up with a partial solution to my spam problem, something I should have instigated long ago, now I need the authors name and email, which may not help that much, but also all comments older then 14 days will have their comments sections closed which should slow the flood to a trickle.
So last night at the gym while I was changing to older gentlemen were grumping about the decline of america, specifically the public option health plan. Mostly it was just one gent grumping to the other, and it was about how his medical coverage pays for his medical expenses, but somethings he has to pay 8% to the government. And how it the public option goes through he loses his medical coverage but still has to pay the 8%. Now I don’t know entirely what he said but it did get me thinking. If private companies strip their employees of their private helath plans because of the availability of a public option, shouldn’t that mean the employees salaries should then go up because the company no longer has to pay for the health coverage? Or would it mean the board of directors pay would go up because they o’ so wisely cut expenses?
I uploaded a couple more photos onto flickr of Alex and Nick. Spent the weekend helping grandma and grandpa clean up the yard for the winter. Due to the number of leaves still in the trees I will need to go up again, which makes a good convenient excuse to go and visit grandma and grandpa. Plus gives me a chance to stop in and see the Sullivan Lambles on the way. Also I hate Moles/Groundhogs/Whatever is making its home in Grandma & Grandpa’s yard, cuz when you hit their mounds of dirt with the lawnmower all the dirt puffs out.
I have always like Colin Powell, everything I have read about him including his biography made him sound interesting to me. I was saddened when he agreed to serve with the Bush Administration, though at the beginning that was only because it was a Republican Administration. I became only more disillusioned with him as he spoke as the Secretary of State for Bush/Rumsfeld/Cheney. I was sad to see what choices he made. This morning though when he came out in support of Barack Obama, he made me really happy. Maybe Obama can dump Biden and pick up Powell.
Alright well this one is for Aaron. On Gamespy Fargo weekly update a WOW comic strip. It used to be Flintlocke, a Dwarf Hunter/Warrior, and his compatriots, now it is a Orc Hunter and his compatriots. It is title For the Horde. I think it is right up Aaron’s alley (if he does not already know of its existence) because it is a Hunter and his attack pet is Bunkar the Warrior Bunny.
Well having seen the axis of evil with Nina and Adam, I have searched for the 4 comedians that were on there in between homework and the like. I have found the perfect thing for Adam to do the next time Nina’s birthday comes around.
