Tidings from Kenya

Saturday, October 15th, 2005

I am still alive for anyone wondering.

I am writing letters and mailing them off as I can. I sent a bunch of Postcards from Philly before I left for Kenya. And I have sent off a few letters so far from here. I promise everyone will receive several from me while I am here.

I only get to the Post Office on Thursdays and Fridays, and mailing out more than 3 or so a week is very expensive, but they are coming.

I am doing well. I have already been sick once, came and went though. I have already taught 4 classes in practice at the local High School/Secondary School. I am currently away from my training town, and in a nearby Metropolitan Hub, the internet connection back at the hub is shady at best.

You can see mount Kilmanjaro from atop one of the ridges near where I live. When the moon is not out everything is blackness but now that it is out it is almost as bright as day. My Homestay family is very nice, they are not obtrusive and are always interested in hearing about America.

Swear in is December 2nd, and from there I will be here for 2 years, Close of Service will thus be December 2nd 2007.

I promise I will write often and prolifically, hopefully I will be on to post photos in the near future (near future is a relative term here, it might be another month, we will be in Nairobi in 3 weeks, that has excellent internet connections).

Missing you all, still going strong.
