My Adventures 2.0

Thursday, April 28th, 2005

So yeah I waited a couple of days before trying to repost my pictures.

So that is a picture of my pants, which I can’t have repaired cuz the rip is both on the seam and the material. So now I have been suggested to that I should go to Burlington or Men’s Warehouse and try to match the pants, cuz I don’t really want to buy a new suit.

This is me with glasses.

In other news I am now a licensed Belayer.

.

.

.

Dad is probably the only one who could possibly know what that is because of his extensial knowledge of random trivia. Well for the rest of you I am now licensed to be the anchor for people when they go climbing on climbing walls, I have also been trained in how to get into the equipment also, so yeah I am that cool.

In much more sad news the camera that I got for Christmas my Freshmen year of College has finally given up the ghost. After numerous drops and forms of abuse it has finally given out on me. Last night when going into the restroom I threw my backpack up onto a shelf for storage, well I had forgot to zip a pocket shut and my camera came tumbling out and bounced off the ground. Dean Horn suggests I open it a little and jiggle it, to see if that will fix it. Worth a try.

Much like a new suit or new cell phone I don’t want to get a new camera until I know what my future is, until I know where and when I will be sent somewhere with the Peace Corp.

Hopefully the photos will work this time.

My Adventures

Sunday, April 24th, 2005

So I realize I have posted in awhile . . .

So this is a post, if you are uninterested in the happenings of my life over the past week then you might as well stop reading.

Saturday night was the Engineering Open House Banquet and Ball. Between the actual Open House and the Banquet I took over 500 photos with my digital camera, went through somethine like 30 AAs though. Well besides there being a open desert bar (I only had a piece of Caramel Cheesecake and a piece of cake that tasted like a Snickers Bar) I did manage to ruin my only good suit. While dancing I ripped my pants wide open.

And taking it too a seamstress I have learned that they can’t be repaired, so now I have to go and try to match the color, or get a new suit.

Well on Sunday I was up in Manhattan to see the Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe musical that was playing there. I went with Christy, my brothers blew me off to go home of all places :) . I did run into Victoria Luhrs while there, hadn’t seen her since probably Freshmen year of college. It was nice to be able to talk to her, though we weren’t able to talk for long. After that I went with Christy and Ethan, one of her friends from KSU to see the Amityville Horror, which if you know me was oh so much fun. Well one I was suffering from a water headache (similar to my dad’s caffeine headaches but due to lack of water), which was doubly good because it gave me a excuse to close my eyes, or at least cover them (sorry Christy I kind of fibbed, I did have a headache, but I also was covering my eyes cuz of the movie, I told you we should have gone to see Sahara :p) for parts of the movie. After that the 3 of us went to Chilis, (which just now typing this I have realized I have those gift cards from ma and pa I keep forgetting to use), I had the Citrus Chicken and Shrimp. I have determined through the course of that meal that I don’t like Bell Peppers, at least large chunks of them. Headed back to WSU after that, which was actually really cool. Following Pa’s advice I drive the back roads along 177 to and from Manhattan, and they were doing the Range Burning (which I remember going to see at Ernie Miller as a wee one) and off in the distance they were burning one of the fields and it was black out, so you could see all of these patches of orange lighting up the horizon, it was really cool to me, I wish I could have gone and watched for awhile, but it was already late so I needed to get back.

And my adventures didn’t end there. In Amityville horror bad stuff happens at 3:15 AM, well I just happened to wake up at 3:00 AM that night, which maybe me just start cussing, because I knew my overactvive imagination would prevent me from sleeping. So that was fun . . . not.

I saw Sin City on Thursday night with my old roommate Sean, and a couple of our friends. I would have to say it was gorier then most horror/scary movies I have seen. The black and white effects were pretty interesting.

Wednesday Night I went to a restaurant by the name of El Rodeo, I have now determined after that trip that I should never sit in the non-smoking section when my friends are drinking, cuz that is generally the family section.

Also I have now joined the ranks of my Brother and Father, and many of our family members. I now must wear glasses. My left eye is much worse then my right, which causes some fascinating visual effects when I am trying to do homework and what not. I can blame myself for this, I believe I aggravated it by playing World of Warcraft for 9-12 hours straight every day during Spring Break.

Oh and now I am officially a member of the Hispanic American Leadership Organization. I just need to pay my dues.

So now you guys know what I have been up too this past week.

Peace.

If I was a conspiracy theorist, or had a incredible hatred for a certain political party. I would definitely find the fact that gas prices receded just in time for election, but then afterward they started jumping back up. Just something to think about.

This week in baseball history . . .

Friday, April 1st, 2005

No really there is nothing about baseball in this post, sorry to get anyones hopes up.

Well one, I do not need to send my computer to Dell to have it fixed. A technician will be coming out on Monday morning, with the part they think they need to fix the problem, and if it doesn’t fix the problem, he is supposed to figure out what it is. So hopefully after Monday I won’t have to worry about turning my compy on and off any more.

Two I am going to write and explain how I got one of my scars. It is on my Left Wrist, on the underside. No it is not cut marks. Well Freshmen year here, when I lived at Brennan Hall (one of the dorms on campus), I was active in Engineering Council (still am) and that year we were competing in the annual Shocktoberfest Celebration (our version of a homecoming cuz we don’t have a football team). Well a float needed to be made, and I volunteered to do it. I bought a bunch of lumber, found some cardboard, and bought some aluminum foil, and I made a float. Small one, the size of a small radio flyer wagon, well I was hot glueing the foil onto the cardboard, and I was pressing on a specific part of foil, I failed to notice that I was applying the hot glue guns nozzel to my bare flesh. Well needless to say I found it painful. Well I immediately pulled off the hot glue, big mistake, cuz it pulled off the already formed blister. So that is how I got one of my scars. Lessons learned, be careful with hot glue guns, wear gloves when using a hot glue gone with foil, cuz foil is a conductor, and the Greeks cheat when they construct their floats.

Have a good day all.
