Viva Las Vegas

I got back from Las Vegas a couple days ago but soon after I headed down to Manhattan and didn’t have internet for a while so I never got a chance to update. Even though I had a pretty snotty cold the whole time, Vegas was still a blast. I didn’t get a lot of sleep, I spent a lot of money, and I ate a lot of food.

The convention was a little smaller than I thought but it was still pretty fun. The actual convention consisted of a lot of vendors trying to pedal off junk for outrageous prices. But in a side room during all of the days different actors would come up and talk for a little bit then have a question answer section. The most notable people were Patrick Stewart talking about how sweet X-men 3 is going to be and William Shatner being a crazy old man.

Gambling was a lot of fun. It took me losing a little bit of money until I really caught on and then I started winning a little back. But I don’t think I’m going to drop out of college just yet to pursue my gambling career.

We spent a couple meals eating at Quark’s Bar. Above is a picture of Jacob working on one of our Warp Core Breaches which is sitting behind a Borg Sphere.

The vacation was a lot of fun but Vegas overall was a pretty gross city. It was kind dirty and there were a lot of dirty magazines and pictures laying all over the place. It didn’t help also that there were thousands of people gambling their lives away. Anyway, I’m pretty sure I’m going to the beach for my next vacation.

Next Stop: Las Vegas

Though it’s earling in the morning, today Jacob and Drew Enlow and I are headed to Las Vegas. A couple months ago I made a ridiculous post suggesting we should all go to Las Vegas this summer not only because we were all going to be twenty one but also because the Star Trek convention was going down. Not only did I think that these plans would never become reality, I also assumed that my parents would strongly discourage me from going. Well plans became reality and my parents had a brain lapse and actually encouraged me to go (though I believe regrets are surfacing). So here we are. I’m leaving today, we’re going to be there until Monday and I’m really looking forward to it. It will be nice to end a stressful and busy summer on such a relaxing note.

I know I’ve been absent from the cyber world for a while but I haven’t had a whole lot to write about. That’s why I decided to make a post before I left because I know that when I get back I’m going to have so many stories to talk about I’ll be writing for weeks to come.

Jacob and Drew, I assume, will both have cameras so I might try and steal some of their pictures and let everyone see a photo diary of the trip. Maybe if I get a chance I can update once or twice while behind enemy lines.

Anyway, not a lot of other news is going on in my life. Fantasy football leagues are beginning to form which I know everyone is pumped about. I also had my most recent doctor’s appointment yesterday. Things have been progressing very nicely with me knee. No more scheduled physical therapy and the doctor gave me a running regimen. I have to keep working out every day and he wants me to work up to running two miles every day within the next two weeks. Which is ridiculous because I haven’t worked up to running two miles in twenty one years.

Finally, I just wanted to make sure that it’s clear that I’m excited about going to Las Vegas. So when I lose all of my savings over there and have to start living on the street at least ten years down the road I can look back at this post and remember that I was excited about going.
