Saturday, May 7th, 2005The honest truth is there a very bad, terrible, horrible people in this world.
I was surfing the net for cute little bunny pictures and came across a website for adopting stray and abandoned rabbits in the Kansas City area.
Most of the rabbits on the webpage had been sent to the shelter because the owners just couldn’t take care of them.
However a lot of them come to the shelter because they have been abandoned. One in particular, a 3 year old boy rabbit named O’malley came to the shelter in very bad shape.
He was found in a dumpster in an alley next to his dead girlfriend rabbit. She had died of injuries from being thrown into the dumpster. The rescuee figured he had been in there for around three days surviving off the filth and rotting food at the bottom of the trash bin.
How someone could do something like that is beyond me…and the worst part is the website is chocked full of similar cases of families leaving pets in cages when they move.
